The soon-to-be built Live Oak Resource Center is the result of a unique private/public partnership to provide a permanent home for reliable and expandable programs serving families, youth, seniors, and volunteers in Santa Cruz County. The new Center will be built by the Redevelopment Agency of Santa Cruz County, which is investing $10 million in the project. Community Bridges/Live Oak Family Resource Center and the Volunteer Centers of Santa Cruz County will co-locate at the new facility. In exchange for a 30-year, rent-free lease at the building, the two non-profits are collaborating to raise $1 million for a capital reserve fund.
We are proud to announce the launch of the Opening Doors to Community Capital Campaign to raise the $1 million. You can help us reach our goal and enable both non-profits to open doors to more members of the community — doors to opportunity, education, support for families and youth, and a renaissance in civic engagement.
Between now and December 13, 2009, donations up to $150,000 will be matched, dollar for dollar, by the S.H. Cowell Foundation. That means, every dollar you give and every dollar you raise will count double!
